I don’t give a flying fuck what you look like. If you tell me you’re a woman, then you’re a woman. If you tell me you’re a man, then you’re a man. If you tell me you’re more than one gender or non-binary or agender or anything else, then that’s what you are. That’s your call to make, not mine.

If you’re not telling the truth for some reason, I’ll still respect that, because I understand that it’s sometimes easier to misgender yourself than to endanger yourself, or maybe you’re just not comfortable coming out to me or the other people around you. Again, your call.

And if the next time we meet you tell me you’re a different gender, then guess what! I’m going to respect that, too.

i’m profoundly disabled (schizoaffective disorder, bipolar type, CFS, hypermobility, a damaged left ulnar nerve) and unable to work.

my benefits claim is in limbo. there’s a chance it’ll be denied based on my immigration status, leaving me with no further options. i’m estranged from family, because they don’t accept the fact i’m trans so i cannot turn to them for help.

i have EUR 27 in my bank account rn. i can’t afford rent or bills or food for the rest of the month. i have no idea how i’m going to survive.

Just so we’re clear, the reason a lot of people protest climate change isn’t because they like trees and hiking. It’s because we’re making the Earth unlivable for all humans, and that humans in the poorest countries are the ones worst hit.

Protesting climate change ain’t a white privilege thing. The people protesting climate change the hardest are Indigenous people, Island nation people, and poor people in hot countries. They’re terrified.

People are dying because of climate change. Climate change isn’t just killing our planet, it’s killing people, and it’s those who live in poverty stricken areas that are dying first. More than 2,300 people died in India during their heatwave last year, and it’s only getting worse.

Temperatures in some areas in North Africa and the Middle East are reaching as high as 140 F/ 60 C during the summer. Scientists are projecting that by the end of the century, unless we take drastic measures, these parts of the world will be entirely uninhabitable. We will actually have refugees from these areas fleeing their homes because they physically cannot survive in that environment.

@ cis people, try this! Use someone’s correct pronouns and if you accidentally slip up, don’t turn it into a lecture or sob story about how hard it is for you to use the right pronouns or how you’re trying your best! A quick “he, sorry, she“ or “she was saying, I mean they were saying” is fine! Most trans people don’t want it to turn into a huge thing, we don’t want the fact that we were misgendered to be acknowledged any further than it has to be! Save us both the embarrassment and save your breath, you don’t need to justify to us what it’s like or explain how us being trans is somehow harder for you than it is for us. Keep it polite, keep it simple, correct your mistake and move on. That’s all you have to do.  

Really important. Having a minor slip up from a cis person turn into a big affair about how sorry they are and how hard it is for them when they never even corrected themselves in the first place is really uncomfortable
